How To Create A USP For Your Business Part 2
In our first part of this series we discussed the importance of having a Unique selling proposition in your business.
Today, I thought we would give a few examples of what some very effective & successful USP’s look like.
One of the most famous USP’s of all time was the USP designed by Domino’s Pizza .
Do you remember what it was?
‘Hot, fresh pizza delivered within 30 minutes - guaranteed - or it’s free!’
What made this so effective?
#1) It gave the customer a reason why they should choose Dominoes over any other local pizza joint.
Did Dominoes have the best pizza? Well if you ever had it before…you know the answer to that question.
In fact, I personally do not like it at all.
But that does not really matter does it. The
“Reason Why” the USP gives was more than enough to catapult them to number one in the industry.
Are you giving a “Reason Why” for people to give their business to you?
#2) It gave a promise up front. The customer knows that he can expect “fresh, hot pizza” delivered in 30 minutes.
Remember that people like things done quickly. Is there a way to capitalize on this in your business?
3) It gave a “Guarantee” up front. The customer knew that his pizza would be absolutely free if the pizza wasn’t delivered within the time parameter.
This “lowered the risk” for the customer.
Think about it…if you could possibly get your pizza for free…wouldn’t you lean toward that option?
Remember that people are afraid of risk. So here is the big question…
How can you reduce the risk by your clients working with you? What kind of guarantee can you offer that would move a potential client to choose you over your competitors?
If you need help creating a USP for your small business we would be happy to help.
